Description in English: After a long sleep, the raindrops wake up and are curious about what lies below in the city. They jump from the clouds, and begin to fall: one, two, three… So many raindrops in the city! allows us to capture an instant in the life of a series of affectionate and gentle characters, just when their trip to the Earth is about to begin.
Text and images by Eva Montanari poetically recreate the adventure of these little raindrops (up to 10!) who arrive preceding a downpour, taking those below them by surprise and announcing the arrival of many more. The author, who also illustrates, creates a sculptural multimedia work using different materials – paper, ceramic…- which spectacularly unfolds across the double page. The imaginary characters travel through the books original vertical design, and despite their fantastical form seem very human and appear perfectly at home in the city.
The text by Eva Montanari reminds us of the importance of having fun and enjoying the little things, while the images transport us into a unique urban cityscape. The story offers us an opportunity to become familiar with mathematics in a fun and dynamic way.
